Outstanding Innovators

Mr. Phạm Văn Thượng, originally from Hải Dương Province, has been dedicated to Great Kingdom International Corporation Biên Hòa (located in Biên Hòa 1 Industrial Park) for more than 25 years. Over that time, he has introduced numerous innovations and improvements to machinery and production lines, helping the company save significant time, labor, and resources.

Mr. Thượng shared that during his work, he observed that certain stages in the production process were overly complicated, inefficient, and required excessive manpower. This motivated him to continually reflect on how to design simple, user-friendly machines that any worker could operate, yet still deliver high efficiency and strong results.

After thoroughly studying the machinery, gaining a deep understanding of the company’s products and production processes, Mr. Thượng began developing his first initiatives to reorganize the production line. He arranged workflow stages closer together so that workers would not need to spend excessive time moving between tasks.

Mr. Thượng has also improved many types of equipment, including the box-sanding machine. He explained that in the past, many small wooden products could not be processed by the machine, so workers had to sand them manually. This method was time-consuming, physically demanding, and inefficient, and it also negatively affected workers’ health.

Through research and experimentation, Mr. Thượng designed and manufactured specialized molds that allow these products to be safely sanded by machine. This innovation significantly increased efficiency while ensuring worker safety. In addition, he also improved lathes and screw-insertion drilling machines so that a single worker could perform two production steps on the same machine.
