In recent days, countries and regions around the world have been intensifying efforts to combat the outbreak of acute respiratory illness caused by the novel coronavirus (nCoV). In response, Đồng Nai Province has mobilized its entire political system to actively participate in disease prevention and control measures.

Although no official figures have been released, it is estimated that tens of thousands, and possibly hundreds of thousands, of medical face masks and bottles of hand sanitizer have been distributed to the public by organizations and individuals. Trade union organizations at all levels have also actively participated in these efforts through a variety of practical and meaningful initiatives, including the distribution of medical masks to workers.

Among the organizations that acted early to equip employees with essential protective supplies and knowledge for preventing the spread of the novel coronavirus (nCoV), Mr. Lương Ngọc Hồi, Chairman of the Grassroots Trade Union of Great Kingdom International Corporation Biên Hòa Co., Ltd., shared that immediately after monitoring the situation, the Trade Union proactively contacted mask manufacturers and suppliers to procure 6,000 medical masks for distribution to employees. At the same time, the company organized awareness campaigns and educational activities across production workshops to promote preventive measures and health protection practices.

“We are currently arranging the purchase of antibacterial hand sanitizer so that each employee can receive a bottle. Should the outbreak continue, the company will also install automatic hand-sanitizing stations for employees. These initiatives not only demonstrate the care and responsibility of both the Trade Union and the company toward our workforce, but also contribute to raising awareness of disease prevention among employees and the wider community,” Mr. Hồi stated.

Beyond Great Kingdom Biên Hòa, many businesses have implemented similar measures by providing employees with face masks and hand sanitizer, allowing workers to take preventive leave when necessary, and organizing awareness campaigns and distributing informational materials. These collective efforts reflect the business community’s commitment to supporting society in preventing the spread of nCoV while helping to discourage stockpiling and price inflation of essential protective supplies for personal gain.
